William
Evans was born in Liverpool, England. He was educated at private schools
in England, graduating from Liverpool college. He came to the United
States and studied first at Moody Bible Institute and then the Lutheran
Theological Seminary and the Chicago Theological Seminary. During his
career he obtained his B.D., Ph.D. and D.D degrees. He held various
Presbyterian pastorates, and, after several years, became Director of
the Bible Course at Moody Bible Institute, a position he held for
fifteen years. He then served for three years as dean of the Bible
Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA). After his tenure there, he was a
director of Bible conferences throughout the United States, from 1918
until his death in 1950. |
