  Holiness not attained by waiting God's time. Not by works of law. Not by direct efforts to feel right. Not by any efforts to obtain grace by works of law. Not by copying the experience of others. Not by waiting to make preparations. Not by attending meetings, &c. Not by waiting for any particular views of Christ. Not in any way which you may mark out for yourself. Not in any manner, time, or place upon which you may lay stress. It is to be attained by faith alone. Sanctification by faith not opposed to sanctification by the Holy Spirit.

As dying for our sins. As risen for our Justification. As bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows. As He by whose stripes we are healed. As being made sin for us. That He was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. As He upon whose shoulders is the government of the world. As Head over all things to the church. As having all power in heaven and on earth. As the Prince of Peace. As the Captain of salvation. As our Passover. As our Wisdom. As the Redemption of the soul. As our Prophet. As our High Priest.

In order to attain to holiness, we need to have Christ revealed to us as the Bread of Life. As the Fountain of the Water of Life. As the True God and the Eternal Life. As our Life. As the All in All. As the Resurrection and the Life. As the Bridegroom of the soul.

  In order to attain to holiness, we need to have Christ revealed to us as the Shepherd. As the Door. As the Way of Salvation. As the Truth. As the True Light.

  In order to attain to holiness we need to have Christ revealed to us as our Shield. As the Portion of his people. As our Hope. As our Salvation. As the Rock of our Salvation. As a Rock cleft. As a Rock Higher than we. As the Rock from which the soul is satisfied with honey. As the Rock upon which the church is builded. As the Strength of our heart. As He through whom we may reckon ourselves dead unto sin, and alive unto God.
