POSITIVE STATEMENT OF THE
DOCTRINE OF INSPIRATION.
This may be briefly comprehended
in three points: —
1. The Bible is truly the
Word of God, having both
infallible truth and divine
authority in all that it
affirms or enjoins.
2. The Bible is truly the
production of men. It is
marked by all the evidences
of human authorship as
clearly and certainly as any
other book that was ever
written by men.
3. This twofold authorship
extends to every part of
Scripture, and to the
language as well as to the
general ideas expressed.
Or it may be summed up in one
single statement: The whole
Bible is truly God's Word
written by men.
