PROPHECIES CONCERNING THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM

The word “Millennium” means “thousand years” and gets its basis from statements in the Book of Revelation that the earth rule of Christ after His return will be of that duration.

Prophecy declares that a day is coming when the God of heaven will set up a Kingdom on earth. (Dan. 2:44). God's King is to reign and prosper and execute justice and judgment in all the earth. (Jer. 23:5). The King will be none other than the true “Son of David”. (Lk. 1:22; Isa. 9:7). The Lord of Hosts shall reign from Jerusalem and before His ancients gloriously. (Isa. 24:23; Mic. 4:7).

This Kingdom will not be established through the preaching of the Gospel, but forcibly by Christ when He returns in “power and great glory”. (Mt. 24:30). All earth kingdoms will give way to His rule. (Rev. 11:15; Zech. 14:9; Psa. 72:11). His dominion will be from sea to sea. (Psa. 72:8; Zech. 9:10).

In another chapter we shall show that saints who have made themselves worthy shall have appointments under the King of kings during this reign. (Rev. 3:21; 5:910; 20:4).

Bringing the Great Tribulation to a close, all offenders shall be banished. (Isa. 13:9). The wheat and tares of the Gospel age will 75
at this time be separated by the angels. (Mt. 13:30, 41). Earth's nations will be thoroughly sifted. (Joel 3:2, 12). The tribes of Israel, after purification (Ezek. 20:3338; Amos 9:9-10), will be brought into Palestine. (Ezek. 20:40-44; 36:24; Amos 9:14-15). They will then enter into eternal covenant with the true Messiah. (Jer. 31: 31-33; 32-40; 50:4-5; Ezek. 37:26).

A WORLD COMPLETELY REORGANIZED

In the Millennium Jerusalem will be the capitol of the earth and the pride of all nations. (Isa. 65:18; 60:14; 62:7; Psa. 48:2; Jer. 31:23; Zech. 8:31). The Lord will be in the midst of Jerusalem. (Ezek. 48:35 ; Joel 3:17,21; Zeph. 3:15-17; Zech. 2:10). People of all nations will make pilgrimages to the world's capitol for religious refreshment. (Isa. 2:1-3; Jer. 3: 17; Mic. 4:2; Zech. 8:20-22; 14:16-19). The Jew will be the great Bible teacher. (Zech. 8:23).

There will be no more heathen nations. (Psa. 47:5-9). No one will find it difficult to get justice, for those who reign under Christ will see that there are no oppressors. (Psa. 72:1-8). It will be a great day for the spread of God's truth. (Psa. 85:1113) for all Satanic opposition will be banished. (Rev. 20:2).

There will be great changes in the animal kingdom. (Isa. 11:1-9; 35:9; Hos. 2: 18; Ezek. 34:25-28) and with the curse removed from all nature, (Rom. 8:19-23), the whole world will become as a watered garden. (Isa. 35:1-7).

What a day of victory it will be when the Lord puts forth His power in the eyes of all the nations and all the ends of the earth shall see His salvation! (Isa. 51:10; 65:17-19; Zech. 2:10-13). Longevity of life will be restored to man. (Isa. 65:20). All will have comfortable homes and will be able to live in peace. (Isa. 65:21-25). All the implements of war in the world will be converted to constructive work. (Mic. 4:3).

Righteousness shall go before the King of kings and shall set all men for a thousand years in the way of His steps. (Psa. 85:13).

BRIEF REBELLION AT CLOSE OF MILLENNIUM

It is sad to read that after the world has had a thousand years of rest from the devil, he will again be loosed to deceive many for a little time. (Rev. 20:7, cf. v. 3). It will prove that his imprisonment for ten decades has wrought no reform in him. It will prove to the peoples of earth, most of whom at the end of the Millennium will have known nothing of Satanic temptations, that human nature is still unable to stand alone.

The brief, mad undertaking of Satan and his followers will be quickly terminated. One sentence tells the story. (Rev. 20:9). We then go on to read of the new and eternal earth, never again to be invaded by sin and Satan.
